Ankarafantsika park is also home to one of the Durell Madagascar Conservation Trust projects; it is an NGO that is trying to save the common turtle, the flat turtle and the large freshwater turtles, all in danger of extinction.

There is an incredible plant such as "LA MANDRAVASAROTRA", able to cure no less than 30 diseases.
