You should have a good physical condition, especially good walker because we often cross a sandy soil, enter labyrinths with deep canyons and go through forests where there are ferns. Exceptional palms, species animal and plant of an isolated place to discover.

Day 1

Antananarivo - Miandrivazo

It's part of new adventure life; we cross the upper Malagasy land where each village has its own activities and means of living (for example at Behenjy: specialist of cooking greasy duck; at Ambatolampy: retyping of broken cars and manufacturing of kitchen and craft material from lost aluminum).

Passage on Antsirabe city where called rickshaw city; break for lunch in a best place just near the town center where we have an opportunity to find Catholic Church (cathedral). Then, we continue our journey to Miandrivazo on folllowing the RN°34. It’s a small village surrounded by Bemaraha plateau.

Day 2

Tsiribihina river: descent

Early morning, it's hot but we should continue our adventure; we have to go to the council office and the police to ask for permission and to well register to avoid any kind of risk. We left Miandrivazo village to Masiakampy where barge waiting us on board the river. All food provisions are on barge: fresh beer, rice, chicken and camping materials are there. Beautiful landscapes along the river, humpback ducks and whistling ducks. Chameleons hide in a small bamboo that grows along the river but with our professional teams, we meet there.

Day 3

Tsiribihina Descent

It's already the second day on the river; we cross the gorge of bemaraha where there are forests in the 2 sides of the river with lemurs which is very happy to meet us. We will have to a nice swim at a waterfall down and swimming pool natural around noon.

We continue our adventure then passage Begidro village where we stay to prepare foods; this name means many lemurs but lemurs are already disappears and replaced by humans. A gold digger on this place that we can visit. The atmosphere became increasingly hot as our evening is supervised by the young people of the village who sing with their folk materials.

Day 4

Belo/Tsiribihina - Bekopaka

Our last day on the river: crocodiles, parrots and may be bats will decorate this last day. Note that some of them hide in the second gorge that reaches up until 50m high. Arrival in Belo / Tsiribihina around noon then direction to the center to have lunch. We travel to Tsingy village named Bekopaka in the afternoon. Arrived at Bekopaka village after 4 hours of drive, crossing of Manambolo River by ferry and check-in to Tanankoay hotel or Orchidées and staying there for 2 nights.
Day 5

Tsingy de Bemaraha

A vast territory reaches up to 157,000ha. This park is famous for its richness on fauna and flora especially the deformation of karstic rocks. We cross through the gigantic labyrinths, Tsingy cathedral, hanging pond then small break and photos from the point of view under the belvedere. We will return to the village in the afternoon to visit the small Tsingy.
Day 6

Bekopaka - Morondava via BAOBAB ALLEY

Same way as day 4; crossing Tsiribihina River by ferry then off-rroad direction to Morondava. Popular town and garden baobab; Of course, these baobabs grow everywhere, but there are three in particular such as sacred baobab, baobab in love and baobab avenue on sunset.

Day 7

Morondava

We have one day at Morondava: city tour, visit fisherman village, relax will be possible. Some boatman offers a tour by “canoe” along Mangove.

Day 8

Morondava – Malaimbandy – Bekignana

By RN°34 to Malaimbandy; we travel along Bongolava mountain range. After a few hours of driving, we can see from a distance the North of Makay massif.

We start here our bivouac and night on tent.
Day 9

Bekignana – Andranomitea – Janjy

Take the car so we can better approach the massif. We are in the heart of the massif on crossing a large valley to reach the famous cave Andranomitea. We go up until the peak which reaches up to 1034m above to sea level where we will have a great and spectacular view then go down by another tributary path to reach our camp site.

Night under tent and bivouac food during 5 days.
Day 10 - 11

Janjy – Volivanda – Sakamaly – Sakapaly

From this camp site, we hike to Sakapaly River. We set up our tent upstream of another river called IKAOSY that goes out from makay for the first night. An easy climb awaits us on the second day to discover some facet hidden along the eastern facade of the chain. Note that the carriers will follow another way to arrive before us on each stop and prepare tent.
Day 12

Sakapaly

We cross SAKAPALY canyons for about 3 or 4 km to go out in another canyon at the starting point. This day allows you to discover another facet of Makay because the landscape changes so much.
Day 13

Sakafaly – Andatsy Be Rivotsy

We will start very early morning going up to the sandstone salver which allows to have a 360 ° view from one of roofs at Makay. We cross dry forest before reaching a new canyon that we should follow until the camp site.
Day 14

Andatsy Berivotsy – Malaimbandy – Miandrivazo

Continuation along the canyon that goes out near Tsiazorambo village; and here we are!!! Our car waiting us at the foot of the mountain to drive us to Malaimbandy then to Miandrivazo.

Check-in to Princesse Tsiribihina.
Day 15

Miandrivazo - Antsirabe

Road direction to Antsirabe; we arrive there and enjoy our day on visiting the two lakes volcanic like Andraikiba and Tritriva. Note that we stop for a lunch near Andraikiba’s lake with panoramic views.

Overnight to Green park hotel.
Day 16

Antsirabe - Antananarivo

Small city tour like big market, small market, miniatures, baths thermal and the railway station which is just a souvenir because the train does not work until now. Departure to Antananarivo then lunch break on the middle of road; direction to Antananarivo where we will found the high city. We will visit queen palace with panoramic view of Antananarivo city.
