On the eastern part of Madagascar

ZAHAMENA national Park

The ZAHAMENA National Park is located in the former province of Tamatave where it is located between the 3 districts of 3 different regions including Alaotra Mangoro (District of Ambatondrazaka), Analanjirifo (District of Vavatenina and Antsinanana (District of Tamatave II). It is a representative of low, medium and high altitude humid forest types and maintains the genetic stocks of several flora and fauna species endemic to the east ecoregion as well as those of the species used by the riparian populations ZAHAMENA comes from the word "ZAHAGNA" where a plant that is in the park and "MENA" from its red color so ZAHANA + MENA or scientifically "Dialium unifoliolatum" will become ZAHAMENA. In 1927, it is an integral reserve then became site World Heritage by UNESCO in 2007. ZAHAMENA also has a research site "Namarafana" in the sector of Miarinarivo for enthusiasts of Biodiversity The Ambatondrazaka district is Madagascar's first granary. For faunas: there are 62 species of amphibians, 48 species of reptiles, 13 species of lemurs and 109 species of birds including 67 endemic to Madagascar.

For flora: more than 700 species with a 90% endemicity rate including 151 species of Pteridophytes, 60 species of Orchids, 22 species of Palm trees, 10 species of Pandanus, and 511 species of woody plants.
On the nothern east part of Madagascar

Masoala National Park

The Masoala National Park is one of Madagascar's last remaining wild and natural areas. This park was created in 1997 on the peninsula of the same name of which five plots are registered in the UNESCO World Heritage since 2007. Masoala has an area of 230,000 ha. This place contains many unknown plots of flora and fauna just waiting to be discovered. Masoala National Park contains 11 species of lemurs, 60 species of reptiles, 40 species of amphibians, 4 species of sea turtles, 102 species of birds, 1100 species of plants and 99 species of marine algae.
On the northern part of Madagascar

Ankarafantsika National Park

This park is located about 129km southeast of Majunga, especially on the road to Antananarivo. It has an area of 130,000ha is operated by the MNP in collaboration with a German lessor. This park is one of the most beautiful places frequented by researchers because it hides a semi-deciduous dense dry forest, which means that it loses part of its leaves in the dry season to save water, something quite rare in Madagascar and on the planet; it is therefore to be protected. This park is also home to one of the Durell Wildlife Conservation Trust projects; it is an NGO that is trying to save the common turtle, the flat turtle and the large freshwater turtles, all in danger of extinction.

On the southern part of Madagascar

Tsimanampetsotsa National Park

This National Park is home to the first RAMSAR site in Madagascar. Biodiversity with remarkable endemicity around 75%. High and low xerophilous thicket with mixed forest and littoral forest. Important wintering place for aquatic birds such as flamingos. Habitat of Geochelone radiata (endangered turtle), endemic to South and South-West Malagasy and 5 of 9 existing Coua species. The Tsimanapetsotsa National Park is located in the southwestern part of Madagascar, 85 km south of Toliara, in the region of Atsimo Andrefana. For the flora, there are 42 species of Herpetofauna, 3 species of lemurs including 2 diurnal and 1 nocturnal, 1 species of fish (Typhleotris madagascariensis) or blind fish, 4 species of bats, 112 species of birds, 3 carnivore species including a local endemic species and 9 non-flying micro-mammal species.

With regard to the faunas, there are 65 families, 185 species and 132 genera listed until the day.
